As the ED Medical Director, you will provide clinical oversight, operational leadership , and strategic direction for the Emergency Department, helping ensure every patient receives timely, compassionate, and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Leadership
- Supervise, support, and mentor ED physicians and advance practice providers
- Promote best practices and clinical protocol adherence
- Champion quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Operational Oversight
- Collaborate closely with nursing and hospital administration and streamline ED operations
- Monitor key performance indicators (e.g., wait times, patient satisfaction, throughput)
- Manage provider scheduling and resource allocation
- Strategic Planning
- Align departmental goals with hospital-wide priorities and community needs
- Play a key role in emergency preparedness and rural disaster response initiatives
- Help shape long-term improvements in rural emergency care delivery
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with EMTALA and all applicable state/federal regulations
- Participate in incident reviews and implement appropriate follow-up actions
- Promote a culture of accountability and safety

Qualifications
MD or DO with an unrestricted Washington State Medical License
Board Certification in Emergency Medicine
- A desire to be at the forefront of innovation and development with a willingness to build the best rural ED
Two years clinical experience in emergency medicine, with at least one year in a leadership role
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for serving rural populations and addressing healthcare access disparities
