The pay range for this position is $18 per hour to $20 per hour. The actual pay rate offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual positive, fun work environment and a generous benefits package. Summary:
The goal of the position is to achieve the following:
Under supervision, performs an experienced level work in the operation of tools and light equipment used in the construction and maintenance of a golf course.
The candidate must be able to assume the following responsibilities:
- Operate large motorized power mowing equipment
- Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools and light equipment necessary to the maintenance of the golf courses
- Mow greens, tees, fairways and rough
- As directed, apply sprays to turf areas, trees and plants
- Apply fertilizer as directed
- Water assigned areas by operating sprinkler system
- Placing portable sprinklers or hand-watering critical areas as directed
- Change cups on greens and move tee markers
- Trim and rake sand traps
- Maintain golf ball washers
- Rake leaves, cut weeds and fell trees/branches when necessary
- Assist in installing, repairing and maintaining sprinkler and drainage systems
- Perform preventive maintenance work on equipment
- Assist in the repair of motorized and mechanical equipment
- Perform tasks independently
- Fully grasp golf course policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Be customer service oriented
- Must have a Valid Driver's License
- Pass DOT Physical (legal age requirement is 18 to get a DOT Physical)
- Work 40 hours per week, including weekends and Holidays
Preferred qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Previous equipment operation and/or golf maintenance experience
- Reliability
- Well organized, direct communicator
- Ability to work independently
- Scheduling flexibility with seasonal/time changes
- Delegates when required
Physical Demands of Job:
- Works in inclement weather
- Routinely lifts up to 60 pounds.
- Various tasks including digging, raking, laying sod, equipment operation.
- Various tasks which require standing, sitting and/or kneeling for long periods of time.
