Colson Group is seeking a Safety Coordinator in our Monette, Arkansas facility. In this role, you will be assisting with the development, communication, implementation, monitoring, and auditing of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs.
Reports To: Safety Manager or Designee
Primary Responsibilities:
• Works with management to develop safety programs and incentives as appropriate
• Conducts new hire training and ensures new employees understand safety practices and policies
• Conducts and certifies all forklift training
• Develop/conduct training sessions on site specific safety needs
• Participates and Leads in Safety Team Meetings and Programs.
• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure that safe job practices are followed, protective equipment is properly utilized, and all required machine/process guards are in place and operational
• Investigates and facilitates the investigation of all accidents and near miss occurrences, identifies trends and causes and ensures that corrective measures are implemented
• Ensures the facility maintains the proper number of personnel trained in first aid and CPR and that required level of safety and medical supplies are maintained in inventory
• Coordinates annual fire inspection tours and planned/unplanned tours by other safety and health regulatory agencies
• Monitors facility hearing conservation program
• Works with HR and Managers to coordinates work duties for employees on medical restrictions
• Maintains appropriate communication with immediate management, Human Resources, and third-party claims administrators
• Works with outside service providers to ensure our EH&S needs are being satisfied
• Maintains or assist with OSHA 300 log and other required report
• Maintains appropriate records
• Other duties as assigned
• Implement established safety/environmental programs for compliance to company and government regulations
• Administer and monitor safety/environmental programs
• Maintain records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc., as they apply to the safety program
• Provide training to enable effective operation of the established safety systems
• Initiate documents and monitor corrective actions to adherence to safety programs
• Gather information and generate required and/or requested reports
• Work with employees to resolve safety issues and techniques
• Build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
• Solve a range of straightforward problems; analyze possible solutions using standard procedures
• Abides by all established organizational policies, rules, and regulations
• Performs other related duties and projects as assigned
• Travel as need, approximately 25%

Education:
- Minimum high school graduate
- Minimum one to three years of experience in safety operations
- Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- First Aid/Responder or EMT certification preferred
- Certified Safety Professional certification strongly desired
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA practices, standards and guidelines
- Experience in developing and reporting policies

- Proficiency in MS Office Tools
