Master Planner/Scheduler
Reports To: Production Planning Director or Designee
Location: Saint Joseph, MI
Job Summary
The Master Scheduler is responsible for the management and execution of the production schedule. They will work closely with a cross functional team to coordinate the flow of work orders and materials within/between departments to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations and needs. Responsibilities include creating and issuing the daily production schedule, measuring schedule adherence, expediting orders or components as necessary, managing inventory levels, performing data analysis to adjust planning parameters as appropriate, and participate in continuous improvement projects.
Essential Job Functions
· Analyze, prepare, and create schedule needed for production.
· Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectations.
· Data analysis and decision making to support raw material supply and finished goods demand.
· Follow-up with all teams to expedite flow of materials and work orders to meet production schedule and customer expectation.
· Complete status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory.
· Interacts with shop floor management daily to resolve issues or gather additional information as requested from manufacturing, customer service and other cross functional departments.
· Coordinates with engineering on deviations to maintain the bill of operations and bill of materials.
· Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
· Managing the production planners and MRO Buyers to meet production needs.
Knowledge
· Master’s degree preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or equivalent required.
· APICS certification preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years prior experience in Planning/Scheduling materials and work orders.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience working with MRP/ERP systems.
Skills
- Understanding of ERP system and Microsoft Office products; strong computer skills.
- Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
- Able to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
- Works well with Customers/others on the phone.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Flexibility for handling a wide range of activities. Demonstrates personal time management.
