What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Respiratory Therapist position at Colquitt Regional Medical Center?
Colquitt Regional Health System is currently hiring a Respiratory Therapist. The staff therapist/technician shall perform respiratory therapy and EKG procedures as ordered by all the physicians that are within the confines of the respiratory therapy policy and procedure manual, and in accordance with current practice guidelines. The staff therapist/technician is responsible for maximum utilization of her/her time, using respiratory therapy and EKG equipment to perform/administer optimal patient care in compliance with departmental policy and procedures. Staff may be required to work off-duty hours, vacations and holidays.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide care in accordance with best practice, current guidelines, and care plans to provide optimal patient outcomes.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
Demonstrate the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age.
Provide care in accordance with departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
Demonstrate the knowledge of organizational and departmental safety plans and procedures; i.e. emergency preparedness plans, infection prevention and control, and emergency codes.
Demonstrate engagement in departmental functions and teamwork approach to patient care.
Accurately and promptly implements physician/provider orders.
Maintain standards of accurate, timely, and complete patient records and reporting of information.
Maintain adequate supplies and equipment in assigned areas.
Maintain all education requirements at the organizational and state licensing/credentialing levels.

Maintain a professional approach with all visitors, patients, co-workers, and adheres to confidentiality rules.
Adhere to hospital policies regarding punctuality and absences and is flexible with scheduling.
Cooperate and maintains good rapport with all staff.
Practice scripting and communicates effectively with patients and family members.
Observe and adheres to patient Bill of Rights relative to the care provided.
Performs any and all job requirements as assigned by the Director for completion of job duties.
Qualifications
Completion of accredited Respiratory Care Program
Georgia Respiratory Therapist Licensure
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications
