Role Overview

As an Operations Engineer at Colovore, you’ll help keep our cutting-edge, high-density data center running at peak performance. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that blends technical precision with operational excellence. You’ll perform maintenance and repair on facility infrastructure, support customer deployments, and ensure the uptime, safety, and reliability of our environment.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Maintenance

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and rounds to verify the status and performance of all systems.
  • Respond to alarms, alerts, and maintenance events with urgency, escalating as necessary.
  • Manage work orders and maintenance records through the CMMS system.
  • Perform regular testing of the facility’s emergency systems, including generators and UPS.

Customer Support & Remote Hands

  • Deliver high-quality customer service through professional, timely, and accurate technical support.
  • Perform customer equipment installations, including servers, network gear, and cabling.
  • Conduct copper and fiber cross-connect installations, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage customer work orders and communications through the ticketing system.

Monitoring & Security

  • Use the Building Management System (BMS) to monitor and track facility performance.
  • Maintain site security via access control and video monitoring systems.
  • Support regular audits and safety inspections.

Shipping, Receiving & Inventory

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound customer equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of parts, supplies, and tools.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of sensitive equipment.


Key Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with CMMS, BMS, and ticketing systems.
  • Skilled in cabling, hardware installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow established processes with high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working at height and lifting up to 75 lbs.


Required Experience

  • 3 years of mission-critical experience in HVAC, electrical, or facility systems.
  • Previous data center or critical environment experience preferred.
  • Experience in a hands-on technical or maintenance role.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace.
  • Universal EPA certification preferred.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
