Position Overview
We are a growing, systems-driven painting company seeking a Production Manager to oversee daily field operations and manage multiple painting crews. This role is responsible for scheduling, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and at the highest quality standards to achieve client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is a strong field leader who understands production efficiency, crew management, and job costing—and who thrives in a fast-paced, accountability-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities: Production & Scheduling
- Oversee daily scheduling and workload for 3–5 painting crews
- Manage job flow to achieve weekly revenue targets
- Ensure jobs are completed on schedule with minimal rescheduling
- Review daily and weekly production reports for labor and material efficiency
- Conduct regular job site visits for quality control and process compliance
Gross Profit & Cost Control
- Drive and maintain gross revenue goals
- Control labor costs
- Manage paint and material usage within company targets
- Adjust crew assignments, workflows, and production plans as needed to maintain profitability
Crew Leadership & Training
- Lead onboarding and ongoing training for crew leads
- Coach crews on job preparation, site execution, safety, and customer interaction
- Conduct weekly team huddles and performance reviews
- Enforce and continuously improve SOP adherence across all crews
Customer Experience
- Guide customer through process from post-sale to final walkthrough
- Support crews in managing customer expectations and resolving job-site issues
- Monitor customer feedback and online reviews
- Uphold company standards for consistent 5-star customer experience
Administrative & Operational Systems
- Ensure crews submit daily updates
- Forecast production capacity and manpower needs
- Collaborate with sales and estimating teams to align production timelines with booked work

Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in painting, construction, or trade-based operations management
- Proven experience managing multiple crews and job schedules
- Strong understanding of labor efficiency, job costing, and gross margin control
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with field work, site visits, and hands-on coaching
- Organized, systems-oriented, and accountable
