Position Summary
The Production Operator (OP1) is responsible for the machine operation, finished good output and quality, packaging, paperwork, and housekeeping of a production line.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Understanding the finished product which includes how they run, what the specifications are, and how to achieve them
- Trouble Shooting – Identifying and correcting equipment and material problems as they occur
- Mechanical Aptitude – Adjusting equipment if necessary.
- Efficiency – Creating a quality product in a timely fashion with low scrap
- Cross Training – Qualified to do all the jobs within the Operator I scope
- A certified forklift operator.
- Operates forklift for various tasks.
- Ensures proper ticketing and labeling of boxes.
- Lifts weights up to 55 lbs.
- Wears all PPE as required by policies.
- Attends scheduled safety training.
- Follows all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Must maintain a clean work environment and be responsible for ensuring the production area is kept in respectable manner at all times.
- Works various hours and overtime, as situations require.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Applies general clerical/trade knowledge and skills.
- Understands basic methods, records, specifications and/or equipment within own work unit.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- A minimum of one year of previous manufacturing or operating experience is required.
- Previous exposure to forklift operation is strongly desired but not required.
