Procurement Intern (Summer 2027)

Position Summary:

The Procurement Intern is a paid, part-time position designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to the procurement and supply chain functions of Colortech. This role offers an opportunity to learn about the company’s raw materials, suppliers, manufacturing operations, and business processes while supporting the Procurement Team with meaningful projects and day-to-day activities.

As a member of the Procurement Team, the Procurement Intern will work alongside Procurement Specialists, Buyers, and other experienced professionals to gain a broad understanding of Colortech’s business and how different departments work together to support operational and customer requirements.

Responsibilities and learning opportunities may include participating in supplier meetings and internal business reviews, conducting market and supplier research, assisting with spend analysis and reporting, supporting purchase order and sourcing activities, helping prepare meeting agendas and materials, and contributing to procurement and supply chain projects as needed.

The Procurement Intern may also participate in supplier visits and facility tours to gain firsthand exposure to supplier relationships, manufacturing operations, material sourcing, and inventory management processes. Through these experiences, the intern will build industry knowledge, develop an understanding of Colortech’s raw materials and supply base, and learn how the organization strategically sources materials and services that support business objectives.

This position is intended to provide students or individuals early in their careers with practical experience in procurement, supply chain management, and business operations while developing professional, analytical, communication, research, and problem-solving skills.

The Procurement Intern will have the opportunity to learn from experienced team members, contribute to the Procurement Team, and gain valuable insight into potential career opportunities within procurement, supply chain, sourcing, and the broader operations organization.

This internship is an onsite, part-time position based at Colortech’s

Morristown, Tennessee location. Candidates must be able to reliably report to Morristown facility for the duration of the internship.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist with supplier and market research projects.
• Support spend analysis and data reporting activities.
• Help maintain supplier records and procurement documentation.
• Participate in supplier meetings and internal cross-functional meetings.
• Assist with purchase order tracking and follow-up activities.
• Support strategic sourcing, cost savings, and supplier development initiatives.
• Help analyze market trends affecting raw materials, freight, and other purchased goods and services.
• Prepare presentations, reports, and meeting materials for the Procurement Team.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Procurement, Operations Management, Finance, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
• Rising sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in good academic standing preferred.
• Prior internship, co-op, project work, or leadership experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel or other data analysis tools is preferred.
• Interest in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, manufacturing, or related business functions.
