What You’ll Do
As a Charter Bus Driver, you’ll safely transport students to activities, events, and field trips while providing high-quality, consistent communication with dispatch and school partners. You will have a flexible schedule. Charter opportunities are during the day, after school, and on weekends. Route driving is not required. You’ll lead by example, promote a positive culture, and help ensure each ride reflects Lake Country’s values of integrity, respect, and grace.
Responsibilities
- Follow all LCT policies, procedures, and safety standards, including the Pre-Trip Inspection and Smith System concepts
- Arrive at Base by clock-in time to allow Pre-Trip inspection
- Provide safe and timely transportation from pickup to destination
- Maintain logs and reports, which may include mileage, times, and student counts
- Communicate effectively with parents, scholars, teachers, and colleagues
- Demonstrate leadership, enthusiasm, and professionalism on and off the road
- Keep the interior and exterior of the bus clean and presentable
- Motivate and support fellow team members
- Protect confidentiality and be respectful
- Attend all safety meetings
- Solve problems using integrity, respect, and grace

Education & Qualifications
- Valid CDL or CLP with school bus and passenger endorsements
- Will provide paid behind the wheel training to qualified candidates with current CLP
- Pass Background Check, Clearinghouse, and have compliant MVR (motor vehicle record)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience driving a school bus preferred but not required
Compensation
- $27.50 - $31.50 per hour, depending on years of experience
