Front & Back Office Medical Assistant – Procedure Scheduling ExperienceAbout the Role
We’re looking for a skilled, detail‑oriented Medical Assistant who is confident in both front office and back office responsibilities and has hands‑on experience scheduling medical procedures. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a patient‑centered environment, communicates clearly, and keeps a busy practice running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient intake & rooming — Obtain vitals, medical history, and prepare patients for exams
- Clinical support — Assist providers with exams, procedures, documentation, and follow‑up
- Procedure scheduling — Coordinate in‑office and off‑site procedures, verify prep requirements, and ensure all authorizations are completed
- Front office operations — Answer phones, manage check‑in/check‑out, collect copays, and maintain accurate patient records
- Insurance & authorizations — Verify benefits, obtain prior authorizations, and communicate with payers as needed
- EMR documentation — Update charts, enter orders, and maintain accurate, compliant records
- Patient communication — Provide instructions, follow‑up calls, and procedure prep guidance
- Office coordination — Support daily workflow, supply management, and general clinic operations
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting
- Demonstrated experience scheduling procedures and managing prep requirements
- Strong knowledge of EMR systems, insurance processes, and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and patient‑service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced clinical environment
