Position Summary:
We are seeking an Endoscopy/ Surgery Technician to join our growing ambulatory surgery center. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a newly developing center with increasing case volume and a strong surgical team.
The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and experienced in supporting endoscopic/surgerical procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and equipment handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, etc.)
- Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment prior to cases
- Perform proper cleaning, high-level disinfection, and reprocessing of endoscopes in accordance with guidelines
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate logs for scope tracking and reprocessing
- Stock and organize procedure rooms and supply areas
- Turn over rooms efficiently between cases
Work Schedule
- This is a contingent/as-needed position based on surgical case volume
- Typical shift: 6:00/7:00 AM – 3:00/4:00 PM, depending on case volume
- Procedure days are scheduled at least 3–4 weeks in advance, with advance notice provided
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent, required.
BLC certification
Certified Endoscopy Technician (CER or equivalent), preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of surgical/endoscopy experience, preferred.
Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center or outpatient setting, preferred.
Knowledge of endoscope reprocessing and infection control standards, especially those required by Joint Commission standards
Proven experience performing terminal cleanings in OR and procedure rooms.
