Job Overview
Local family owned transportation company looking for a dispatcher for evening and weekends. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, manage administrative tasks with precision, and support various office functions to foster a welcoming and productive environment.

Responsibilities
- Assigning trips to drivers and vehicles
- Coordinating charter schedules, pickups, and drop-offs
- Monitoring driver availability and hours-of-service compliance
- Communicating with drivers throughout the day regarding delays, route changes, weather, or customer needs
- Tracking vehicle locations and trip progress
- Coordinating maintenance issues and substitute vehicles when necessary
- Serving as a point of contact for customers, schools, tour groups, and corporate clients
- Preparing trip packets, manifests, and driver instructions
- Handling last-minute schedule changes and emergencies
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics, or customer service experience (often preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Experience in motorcoach, trucking, transit, or transportation operations
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
- Understanding of driver Hours-of-Service (HOS) requirements
- Experience with dispatching, scheduling, or GPS tracking software
- Familiarity with route planning and trip coordination
