Job Description

The Office of Admissions is tasked with enrolling an incoming student body consistent with the mission and vision of access, research, teaching, service and engagement at Colorado State University and is responsible for coordinating enrollment efforts across the university related to inclusive recruitment and counseling, marketing, application, strategy, and technical support functions for most prospective students. Through innovative and strategic approaches, Admissions strives to balance its growth in attracting an increasingly diverse and well-prepared student body while remaining true to its land-grant mission and heritage. We employ a holistic, comprehensive review process to select new undergraduates, not only in light of their preparation, but their potential to successfully contribute to the campus and world community.


This role's primary responsibility is to strategically develop, lead, and implement the marketing and communication plans for the Office of Admissions with the goal of attracting, influencing, and informing prospective students, parents and families, high school and college counselors about the qualities and benefits of Colorado State University's education and community.

Essential Job Duties:


  • Develop marketing and communication strategies to meet university undergraduate enrollment goals.
  • Lead the Admissions Marketing and Communications team and implement strategies.
  • Responsibility for strategic collaboration, brand integration, campaign development/execution, content coordination and performance optimization across admissions and campus partners.
  • Manage budget and project development and completion.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Conditions of Employment:


  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; The department will not sponsor a visa for this position.
  • While this position may have the option for hybrid work, the position is expected to reside in the local area and be on campus 3 days per week.


Supervision:


  • This position supervises 2-3 direct reports and oversees a team of eight


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of progressively responsible communications and marketing experience including at least two years in a strategic leadership capacity.
  • Two years of experience in direct supervision of full-time professional staff.
  • Experience communicating and influencing a variety of internal and external constituents.
  • Demonstrated experience and solid understanding of technology and software application such as: Google Analytics, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Content Management System (CMS), Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and reporting systems
  • Demonstrated experience executing multimedia communication and marketing plans supported by measurement and analytics.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • A master's degree in a relevant area such as marketing, communications, journalism or public relations.
  • Experience with lead generation and conversion marketing strategies and evaluation.
  • Experience in enrollment management and/or admissions in a marketing and communications capacity.
  • Experience creating strategies for various channels such as: social media, email, website, print, texting or lead generation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as demonstrated through experience writing for the web, publications, marketing campaigns, and/or professional presentations.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, friendly, and customer service-oriented attitude.
  • A demonstrated alignment or understanding of CSU's land grant mission.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
