Water Operations Controller
The starting pay rate for this position is $46.33 followed by an increase to $48.64 after six months.
As a Water Operations Controller, you'll leverage our SCADA system to monitor and control Colorado Springs Utilities’ water and wastewater system pressures, flows, and levels, as well as coordinate with our field personnel to ensure proper pressures, flows, and levels during scheduled maintenance and emergency situations. You will also leverage historical data and spreadsheet applications to prepare consumption forecasts and issue plant production requirements to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable distribution system operations.
What Else Will You be Doing?
- Coordinating equipment outages and administering department-wide safety processes
- Analyzing system conditions and correcting problems
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities pertaining to control room operations
- Representing Water Systems Control on various occasions as designated by the Water Control Room Supervisor or Lead Water Controller
Please note that this is a 24/7 position that will require working occasional nights, weekends, and holidays to support critical business needs.
Who You Are
Demonstrated experience related to any of the following - SCADA control processes, consumption forecasting principles, treatment plant operations, distribution system principles, operations, control processes, and/or maintenance requirements
Possession of a Colorado Certified Water Professional (CCWP) Distribution Level 3 is valued
Ability to obtain a CCWP Distribution Level 4 and a Wastewater Collections Level 1 within 36 months of hire
Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, in addition to best safety practices
