Senior Analyst (Utility Metering)
Do you have experience with systems monitoring and analyzing data? Do you possess knowledge of, or have an interest in, utility metering and measurement systems and data? If so, this may be the opportunity for you! As a Senior Analyst, you will have the opportunity to research and analyze meter, device, vendor, and performance data to help inform leaders' decision-making on developing strategies, allocating and managing resources, prioritizing projects, and deploying staff for metering-related initiatives and projects. You will also provide support for our MV90 and AMI systems, which collect, analyze, and deliver meter reads from our customers to our operational, engineering, customer service, and billing teams.
What Else Will You be Doing?
Data Analysis, Validation, and Reporting
Verifying meter data and billing accuracy, as well as failed data validations
Conducting basic meter data estimations - and advanced data estimations as needed
Completing various data imports and aggregations
Conducting report distribution monitoring, annual data archiving, and preparing and distributing monthly reports
System Upgrades and Maintenance
Gathering and developing system user requirements
Using system monitoring and meter data indicators to drive system decisions and work with System Analysts to identify issues and troubleshoot problems
Assisting on system configuration, upgrade, and maintenance activities for operational and metering systems
Creating and conducting test cases and system validation in all environments
Conducting regression testing
System Administration, Monitoring, and Outages
Reviewing system monitoring reports and communicating findings to leadership, vendor, and/or staff as needed
Provisioning system users and modifying user access, including managing roles and permissions
Coordinating system outages and maintenance activities with Colorado Springs Utilities' stakeholders, to include determining outage scope, sending outage communication, monitoring vendor progress to correct outages, and reporting system outages
Completing meter configurations and program changes
Deliver front-end and back-end metering application support to internal users and super users of metering applications
Who You Are
- Demonstrated experience with providing technology systems monitoring, maintenance, and administration support
- Experience with analyzing data and verifying data and information accuracy using a variety of current data strategies
- Experience working with utility meter data and information is highly valued
- Ability to perform requirements gathering to understand user needs and develop solutions
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
