The Early Childhood Education Department combines a deep passion for early education with meaningful support for the staff who make the magic happen. We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Preschool Plus Paraeducator to support extended care programming for preschool students. This position works closely with teachers to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal care support that helps young children build independence, confidence, and school readiness skills in an inclusive learning environment. The Preschool Plus Paraeducator helps maintain safe, engaging, and organized classrooms while supporting daily routines, individualized student needs, and positive social-emotional development. The ideal candidate is reliable, patient, flexible, team-oriented, and passionate about supporting young children with diverse learning and developmental needs.
Position Summary
The Coordinator I: Program Support position supports the implementation and day-to-day coordination of district programs, services, or operational processes within an assigned department. This role focuses on ensuring program activities are organized, documented, and implemented effectively while supporting departmental staff and stakeholders.
This position also works within established procedures and provides administrative and operational support to ensure programs run efficiently and meet district expectations.
Essential Job Functions
Program Support
- Assist with coordinating program activities, schedules, and communications.
- Support the implementation of department initiatives and projects.
- Maintain documentation and program records.
Operational Support
- Monitor program processes and assist with daily operations.
- Track program participation, schedules, and deliverables.
- Maintain internal systems, databases, and reporting tools.
Data and Reporting
- Compile program data and assist with preparing reports.
- Maintain accurate records to support program accountability.
Collaboration
- Communicate with internal staff regarding program processes.
- Provide logistical support for meetings, trainings, or program activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of
- Program coordination and administrative support practices within a public-sector or K-12 educational environment.
- Organizational procedures, documentation practices, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Data tracking, reporting processes, and basic data management principles.

Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Required: 2–3 years of related administrative or program support experience
- Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business administration, data management, education, or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience working in a K–12 school district or educational environment.
- Preferred: Experience generating reports and analyzing data for accuracy and completeness.
- Preferred: Experience training or supporting staff on procedures or systems.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Work is primarily sedentary with periods of light activity. Essential functions may include walking or standing for brief periods; lifting and carrying materials up to 20 pounds; climbing stairs; bending; reaching; handling objects; and operating a computer and standard office equipment. The role requires effective communication and the ability to receive and process information through normal or aided vision, hearing, or other assisted means. Work is performed in a district office or administrative setting with regular collaboration across departments and external partners, and may include occasional evening or weekend responsibilities. Duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Employees in this category will also receive the following for the 2025-2026 school year:
- Non-Recurring Pay: 7% of base salary in Non-Recurring Pay (distributed as 3.5% on November paycheck and 3.5 % on May paycheck).
- Staffing Stability Incentive (Adams Elementary, Galileo Middle School and Mitchell High School): ESP employees will receive the equivalent of one salary step divided over 12 pay periods.
Base Salary Setting: Employment, assignment and salary placement, is in accordance with job description requirements. A work history is required to demonstrate job title, job duties and time worked in the position. Grade placement for ESP positions is determined by the Salary Schedule by Job Title resource. Salary Setting (New Hires): Any newly-employed Education Support Professional will be placed on the twenty-five (25) step system. Each step represents two years of experience, based upon equivalent experience. The maximum number of years of experience granted is 19-20 years, which is equivalent to placement on step ten (10). Steps are determined by experience listed on the application and resume.
Salary Setting (Rehires): Returning employees who have previously resigned or separated from the District will be rehired at the same step they were on at the time of resignation/separation plus any new experience gained in the same job, provided step increases were approved by the Board during the years in question.
Employees with experience in the District who have left the District and then returned to the same position shall be hired at the same pay grade (refers to the ESP placement on salary schedule by job title) and step at time of resignation. Additional relevant experience gained after resignation may be evaluated from the employee’s application and updated resume.
