Job Summary:
The Assistant Store Manager will assume responsibility and accountability for all daily operations of the convenience store in the absence of a Store Manager. Assist with maintaining the primary responsibility for the achievement of the store/station.
Duties & Functions:
- Assists with the weekly work schedule and ensures station is adequately staffed at all times.
- Supervises, ensures that all personnel know and follow all store policies and procedures.
- Actively order, receive and maintain controls for store/station inventory.
- Stocks shelves and refrigerated coolers.
- Maintains all records and documents as required for the store/station operation and compliance and supervision of workforce.
- Ensures station is complying with services and satisfaction standards.
- Analyzes sale, check deliveries, performs self-audits and control venders.
- Ensures product mix and inventory levels are properly maintained in order increase sales volume and control inventory.
- Immediately report any and all incidents to Store Manager.
- Reviews security videos (as needed) and conduct prescribed loss prevention activities.
- Assists in interviewing with the Store Manager, the hiring and training of staff as needed for the store/station.
- Prepares or supervises preparation of all paperwork as specified by the Store Manager.
- Handles customer complaints.
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Director or designee to fulfill the Department's needs, objectives and/or goals.
- Follow established Tribal policies and those outlined in the Colorado River Indian Tribes Employee Handbook.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must have knowledge of a (POS) Point of Sales System.
- Strong cash handling and customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays in order to provide management coverage when the Store Manager is not present.
- Ability to take all necessary steps to ensure a safe work environment of a 24-hour operation store/station in compliance with Federal and Tribal laws.
- Ability to check shift end reports to ensure balance and accuracy as well as ability to maintain inventory of the store/station.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must possess a current valid driver's license throughout employment.
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience in a store/station.
Physical Requirement:
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Be able to stand at least eight (8) hours.
- Must be able to work in adverse outdoor climates and in-store cooler environments.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Must successfully complete a drug screening test prior to appointment.
- Must be available 24 hours to respond to problems and emergencies on rotation as assigned.
- Physically able to perform duties assigned.
- Occasionally work extended shifts as assigned, some weekends and holiday.

The Colorado River Indian Tribes has implemented a Tribal I CRIT Preference in Employment Policy. Pursuant to this Policy, applicants who possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by this position, and who are enrolled members of the Colorado River Indian Tribes will be given primary preference in hiring and employment for this position. Let it be known that Tribal preference is integrated into the interview and scoring process for candidates for job positions.
