Accounting Specialist

Colorado Public Radio is seeking an Accounting Specialist.

• Indie 102.3 takes listeners inside the world of new and independent music – exposing them to up-and-coming artists and highlighting Colorado’s local music scene.
• Denverite is an online news source dedicated to Denver's curious and concerned.
• KRCC is a public radio station in Colorado Springs, Colorado, serving Southern Colorado. KRCC is operated by Colorado Public Radio in partnership with Colorado College.

About the Position:

The Accounting Specialist will support CPR’s financial health by handling accounts receivable and payable, as well as other day-to-day accounting tasks. You will be responsible for identifying and processing incoming donations and sponsor payments, making check deposits, checking a dedicated AR email, and preparing monthly billing for sponsorship. You may also support accounts payable functions by preparing payment data in the accounting system, checking a dedicated AP email, researching payments, investigating variances or discrepancies, and processing weekly vendor payments. You will assist employees with company credit card questions and issues, and may assist with bi-weekly payroll, provide training, and respond to general staff inquiries.

This is not a remote position. The Accounting Specialist is expected to reside in the Denver Metro area upon starting.

Your ability to manage your time is strong and you’re comfortable with needing to switch between tasks as needed. You value curiosity, accountability, and a growth-oriented attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience generally related to the position. This experience should include familiarity with entering data into an accounting software system, AP and/or AR, and investigating accounting variances or discrepancies.
• Must have experience with accounting software systems, Excel, and learning processes in new software efficiently.
• A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide excellent customer service.
• A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education Equivalency:

• None, but a fully related associate’s or bachelor’s degree may help contribute to the minimum years of experience needed to qualify for this position.
