What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer Intern position at Colorado Opportunities?
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist supervisor in the field or office to support project success
- Material takeoffs from drawings, specifications and other contract documents
- Assist in the preparation of RFIs, Submittals, close out and/or other documentation as required
- Assist in schedule maintenance and performing updates as directed by others
- Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, and other communications.
- Assist in generating change orders.
- Assist in as-built drawing documentation.
- Provide field support and assist with supervision of subcontractor operations
- Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
- Participation in intern program specific trainings and events
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
EXPERIENCE
3 months related industry preferred but not required
SKILLS
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite
- General familiarity with construction software (PROCORE and Bluebeam preferred)
- General familiarity with plan and specification reading
- Ability to assist with and perform necessary functions for more than one project
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Time management
- Organization
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Verifiable work references demonstrating exceptional accomplishments, leadership, and communication skills
- Successful completion of post-offer background & drug screens
- All positions at GH Phipps are considered safety sensitive. Position may be required to visit a construction site at any time.
