Summary
The Military Community Planner II will independently collect, assimilate, and manage land use planning, community planning, and urban design project information for the team; prepare project requirements, constraints, and opportunity mapping and required analysis; assist in the preparation for and participation in client and public information meetings, site data collection visits, stakeholder interviews, charrettes, and in-progress reviews; prepare viable courses of action alternatives for evaluation including proposed plans for Department of Defense (DoD) facilities and installation requirements; and prepare high-quality illustrations and narratives for master plans and site-specific area development plans.

The Planner II will participate in all phases of document development, apply the guidance and criteria in the Unified Facilities Criteria series (particularly UFC 2-100-01) in plan creation, prepare conference minutes, work with facility floor plans and facility category codes, and narratively and graphically apply the planning process to documents such as:

Have working knowledge of and ability to conduct facility and infrastructure condition assessments.

Develop organization requirements and develop planning documents in accordance with DoD and service-specific planning criteria.

Take an active role in installation visioning and planning charrettes, prepare rough-order-of-magnitude project cost estimates for proposed solutions, assist in the preparation of the DD Form 1391, and prepare an ECONPACK supported economic analysis.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, geography, public policy, or related area.

3 years of community or military planning experience.

AICP, PLA, or RA credentials

Have or be able to obtain a US security clearance.

Able to travel internationally as needed.
Additional Eligibility Requirements

Experience in or knowledge of the military services is preferred.

LEED Green Associate or higher.

EIT credentials desired.
Travel
Travel is anticipated for 1 week per month primarily in the United States. Must be able to travel internationally if needed.

This position will work mainly in an office setting but may be required to regularly visit construction sites across the United States, Japan, Italy, and Germany.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

This position must be able to pass a Federal Background Check and have or be able to obtain a US security clearance.
