STATEMENT OF DUTIES
General Statement Of Duties
This classification will support the Director of the Division by managing the operational work of the Division. The incumbent serves as acting Director in the Director's absence.
Distinguishing Factors
This classification is distinguished by managing the day-to-day operation of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Division. This classification has a high level of independent decision-making authority in visible areas.
Additional Comments
The preferred candidate will have the following:
Manages the day-to-day operations of the ITS Division.
Assumes the Director of ITS's responsibilities in the Director's absence.
Assists the Director of ITS with strategic planning and coordination with other divisions.
Assists the Director in areas of signing authority, training, hiring procedures, budgetary, fiscal, and personnel matters.
Manages multiple teams responsible for implementing and supporting a variety of court and probation related projects and programs.
Assists in the development, implementation, and revision of programs necessary to the administration and operation of the Judicial Department.
Drafts reports, procedures, rules, recommendations, and Chief Justice Directives.
Participates in a variety of committees as necessary. Gathers input from appropriate field personnel and stakeholders.
Supervises and provides leadership, direction and coaching to ITS staff. Oversees multiple units within the Division.
Assigns tasks and projects to staff; establishes expectations and provides feedback; assists subordinates in establishing goals.
Attends meetings and training as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Manages multiple operations or programs. Has supervisory accountability for other employees, volunteers, or interns. Plans, directs and coordinates activities for multiple units. Conducts performance appraisals, and provides input into and participates in discipline, dismissal, and hiring processes.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and six years of experience in information technology which must have included three years of supervisory experience. Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.
OR
Three years of supervisory experience in the Colorado Judicial Department, or other governmental agency, and ten years of experience in information technology.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
This position is subject to many interruptions and may be required to handle multiple calls and inquiries at once. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

- A Master's degree in Data or Information Governance
- Experience working with or in a judicial system.
- Experience as an educator.
- Deep understanding of information governance and data classification frameworks.
- Experience in implementing a data governance framework from the ground up.
- Experience working with data analytics and business intelligence.
- Experience collaborating with business teams and infrastructure teams.
- Experience in all the areas of Information Management, including but not limited to accessibility, risk management, compliance, and communication management.
- Experience working with and leading projects (Enterprise Project Management).
