Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Provider/Floor Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of childhood development. This role involves providing a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children of various ages, 6 months to 12 years old. The candidate will also be comfortable flexing between childcare and floor attendant duties as needed.
Childcare Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with children in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities through tailored activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Floor Attendant Responsibilities:
- When childcare is not booked, being able to maintain floor attendant duties.
- Actively walk the floor to monitor for injuries, prevent misuse of equipment, and ensure a safe, inclusive atmosphere.
- Sanitize equipment, wipe down machines, mop spills, and organize free weights/accessories (re-racking).
- Greet members, provide, tutorials on how to operate machines, and assist members when needed.
- Ensure users follow gym rules regarding attire, conduct, and etiquette.
- Perform opening/closing procedures, report broken equipment, and complete incident reports.
Experience:
- Previous experience in childcare settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or as a nanny/babysitter is preferred.
- Experience working with students or individuals with disabilities.
- Familiarity with first aid practices is beneficial.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an orderly environment.
- Experience in caregiving roles that require patience, empathy, and effective communication skills. If you are passionate about making a difference in children's lives through care.
