What are the responsibilities and job description for the Theory Instructor position at Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy?
Job Title: Theory Instructor Reports to: Faculty Manager
Primary Purpose: To teach course material according to the syllabus and/or lesson plan.
Job Summary:
Primary:
· Arrive prepared for classes in the “ready to teach” frame of mind and begin teaching on time.
· Teach material as stated on syllabus for the designated period of time. No early dismissals.
· Take attendance
· Provide input to curriculum developer regarding quizzes, tests and examinations and make suggestions for course improvement, course flow and connection to other courses, and curriculum development.
· Stays informed of developments in the subject area, and relate them to the curriculum developer.
· Keep a record of student grades and report to records coordinator in a timely manner.
· Demonstrates CIMT’s values and behaviors everyday.
Secondary
· Be familiar with all teaching tools in the classroom. Be able to operate A/V equipment with ease.
· You may be responsible for opening/closing the school. This involves resetting thermostats, setting the burglar alarm, and locking all doors. See closing checklist.
Qualifications:
· Must have been licensed for 2 years as a Massage Therapist
· Some courses require an undergraduate proficiency
Pay range: $22-$25 an hour Tuesdays and Thursday am and pm classes
Salary : $22 - $25
