Colorado High School Cycling League: Marketing Communication Manager


The Position

This role is a unique opportunity for a creative professional to join the Colorado League team and help craft and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. This person will manage the public-facing image and voice of the Colorado League across multiple platforms and channels.

Expectations of the Role

  • Connect with existing members and followers across our area to deepen the understanding of our work, build trust in the organization and grow support of the League.
  • Connect with new audiences across Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota and New Mexico with the goal of converting new contacts into engaged supporters of the League.
  • Promote the League to its sponsors, teams, partners, host communities and partnered events to drive awareness of and participation in the League.


Responsibilities

  • In cooperation with key staff, plan and execute marketing campaigns to promote League events, membership, programs, and initiatives.
  • Manage external communications: email communications, newsletters, social media posts, web content, press releases and the creation of marketing collateral.
  • Oversee giving campaigns, creating impactful communications and creative assets.
  • Measure and analyze communication efforts and provide end of campaign and end of year reports.
  • Develop, organize and manage collateral and content library.
  • Manage social media advertising campaigns to increase reach and engagement.
  • Manage the League’s website for images, content, page building, page editing and menus.
  • Develop an outreach campaign to the Colorado League’s alumni network to provide ongoing support, recognition, and appreciation.
  • Support the team in developing and maintaining contacts with news outlets, preparing press releases, and fielding media inquiries.
  • Support and attend League events, such as races, fundraisers and partner events.


Desired Qualifications

  • 5 years experience with management and leadership, non profit preferred
  • Experience with successful event production
  • Business and finance skills, including forecasting and budgeting
  • Technical proficiency with the following or similar software: Smartsheets, MS Office, QuickBooks, Google for Office
  • Experience with successful fundraising 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong work ethic 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area
  • Loves kids and bicycles
  • A passion for youth development.
  • Highly collaborative and able to thrive in a team setting.
  • Able to work remotely, at events and in the office.
  • Familiar with bicycling, youth sports and non-profit organizations.


Compensation

  • Salary range for this position: $62,000 - $72,000 commensurate experience and expertise.

The office is closed for major US holidays, including the week of Thanksgiving and the last two weeks in December. 


Work Schedule

The Colorado League uses a hybrid work model. The staff meets in person at least once each week at our office in Boulder, Colorado. Workflow may require longer days or weeks, including some evenings and weekends, especially during our fall race season. Travel within the state is expected throughout the year.
