The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Director of Facilities to join our System Office. This role leads and supervises the Facilities department of the CCCS Lowry Campus. We’re looking for someone with great project management and people skills who can effectively manage the department’s critical functions and contractors working on the campus. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day administration of policies, procedures, programs, and be responsible for providing leadership and vision to ensure a well-managed, well-maintained campus. This role oversees the facilities operations, including Building Maintenance, Security, Grounds, and Custodial functional areas; assessment and management of controlled maintenance and capital construction projects; planning and budgeting; and all related aspects of management of the physical plant. This position directly supervises six employees and oversees a division of approximately 30 employees.

Duties Include
- Manage the Facilities Department to ensure effective and efficient operations of the Lowry campus, including providing building maintenance, campus security, grounds, and custodial services for the campus. Has managerial oversight for the Lowry Conference Center.
- Oversee the purchases of services and goods within the State system requirements, including supplies and equipment.
- Manage and has oversight for all campus controlled maintenance and capital construction projects, including planning, procurement, and managing vendor execution through project completion.
- Prepare and defend requests for controlled maintenance and capital funding on behalf of the Lowry campus to the Office of the State Architect and the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. Coordinate with the Office of the State Architect s to ensure all project-related deadlines are met and projects are on budget.
- Serve as campus liaison for physical plant related issues with all tenants.
- Recruit, select, and supervise campus facilities staff.
- Bachelor’s degree. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the degree.
- Three years of working in facilities management or related field.
- Experience with controlled maintenance need assessment, as well as planning and pricing capital development.
Work Location/Travel Expectations:
- The office is located at 700 Boston Street, Denver, CO 80230.
- Travel to various colleges in the system within the State of Colorado is expected, along with the occasional travel to conferences out of the state.
- Alternative Work Arrangements may be available for this position. All work must be completed in the state of Colorado.
