What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Education Instructor--Trinidad position at Colorado Community College System?
Instructors in the Adult Education Services Program offer basic literacy instruction as well as GED Preparation and English as a Second Language. This position is part-time, up to 28 hours per week.
- Create an inclusive, welcoming classroom environment
- Support learners through initial enrollment and testing
- Track student attendance and progress
- Strive for 75% or better retention by maintaining good communication with students
- Work toward requirement of all learners achieving a skill level gain measured from pre-test to post-test
- Engage students with a range of skill levels using a variety of proven teaching skills and motivation strategies while meeting the needs of individual learning styles
- Perform daily record-keeping and data reporting responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development offerings
- Work collaboratively with other instructors and with program director on student progress to achieve program goals
- Other duties as assigned
- Associate degree or equivalent (Candidates currently working towards an Associate Degree are welcome to apply, provided that the degree will be completed within one year from the start date of employment.)
- Ability to work independently and deliver high quality instruction to adult learners
- Good organizational skills and a positive attitude
