About the Organization
Colorado Cleantech is organizing the second annual Colorado Climate Week, a multi-day event bringing
together climate-focused organizations, businesses, and thought leaders across the state. Last year’s effort
drew over 600 people, alongside dozens of partners and speakers who contributed their expertise over three days to make the week a huge success. This year, we’re building on our momentum with additional partners to expand the event's reach and impact.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized Event Director to serve as the lead organizer of Colorado Climate Week.
This contract position will manage the logistics and coordination of all Climate Week activities. This is a unique opportunity, not only to serve in a leadership role for a highly regarded state-wide event, but to rapidly expand your network of climate leaders across the state and contribute to the growth of Colorado as a nationally recognized center of excellence for climate work.
Contract Period
● November 2025 - April 10, 2026 (through Climate Week, plus post-event wrap-up)
● Start date: Immediate
● 25-40 hours per week
Compensation
● $3,000 per month (contract basis)
Key Responsibilities:
Event Strategy
● Work with Colorado Cleantech leadership and a Community Advisory Committee to refine the vision for
Colorado Climate Week 2026
● Lead the implementation of our strategy, acting as a project manager who oversees, organizes, and
holds accountable all event stakeholders and operations
Event Planning & Logistics
● Coordinate venue arrangements for main stage events at CSU Spur
● Develop and manage submission process for community events throughout Colorado
● Co-Create a cohesive programming schedule for main stage events (Monday & Tuesday)
● Encourage and track satellite events across the state to increase statewide engagement
● Manage event registration, and participant and partner communications
● Oversee event vendors for main stage events, including catering, AV, photo/video, marketing, etc.
Climatebase Partnership Management
● Serve as the primary point of contact between Colorado Cleantech and our partner for this event who
will be providing much of the back end data infrastructure, software tools, and general knowledge about
running up a successful climate week
● Coordinate implementation of Climatebase's event management platform and resources
● Manage transition to and customization of Climatebase's website for Colorado Climate Week
● Adapt Climatebase's fundraising and sponsorship materials to fit Colorado Cleantech's needs
Event Planning & Logistics
● Coordinate venue arrangements for main stage events at CSU Spur
● Develop and manage submission process for community events throughout Colorado
● Create a cohesive programming schedule for main stage events (Monday & Tuesday)
● Facilitate satellite events across the state to increase statewide engagement
● Manage event registration, participant, and partner communications
Stakeholder Engagement
● Support the coordination of a working Advisory Committee
● Liaise with potential speakers, sponsors, and community partners
● Create and maintain comprehensive event documentation
● Represent Colorado Cleantech in meetings with potential event hosts and partners
● Provide event updates to Colorado Cleantech leadership and board members, as requested
Sponsorship Support
● Develop a tiered sponsorship model, in coordination with Colorado Cleantech’s in-house development
team
● Assist Colorado Cleantech leadership with sponsor outreach and fulfillment
● Track sponsor commitments and ensure proper recognition
Post-Event Responsibilities
● Compile comprehensive event metrics and impact data
● Coordinate feedback collection from participants, sponsors, and partners
● Produce an after-action report with recommendations for future events
● Ensure proper acknowledgment of all contributors and sponsors
Qualifications:
Required
● Exceptional organizational and project management skills
● Previous experience coordinating medium to large-scale events
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
● Detail-oriented with a talent for logistics coordination
● Experience with event management platforms and tools
● Available to be on-site in Denver during Colorado Climate Week (March 28 - April 3, 2026)
Preferred
● Knowledge of Colorado's cleantech and climate innovation ecosystem
● Familiarity with Colorado's universities and innovation hubs
● Experience with fundraising and sponsor relations
● Understanding of multi-stakeholder event coordination
● Experience coordinating events across multiple locations simultaneously
