Job Overview
The Early Intervention (EI) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of CBE's current Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) and Clinical Supervisor to address concerns families may have regarding the motor, sensory, and social-emotional development of the infants and toddlers they care for. The COTA is responsible for maintaining clear and effective communication with treatment teams, supervisors, and caregivers through a coaching-based approach. Collaboration with treatment teams is essential to providing high-quality occupational therapy services to EI families served through the Colorado Bluesky EI Broker Program.
DutiesThe COTA must effectively communicate informed observations regarding a child's progress and overall development toward Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) outcomes with a multidisciplinary team. This position has a caseload expectation of 17 children/families.All providers are expected to collaborate with other employees and subcontracted providers to deliver services using a transdisciplinary (TD) or primary provider approach. This means that CBE providers and service coordinators work together to develop Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) for eligible children and their families. To ensure the highest quality services for children ages birth to three, our transdisciplinary team meets weekly to discuss strategies, review progress, and collaborate with specialists.
