This is a seasonal position from approximately June 5, 2026 to July 24, 2026. The position is non-exempt as defined by the Department of Labor.
Job Type: Part Time
Schedule:
Mondays: 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Tuesdays: 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Wednesdays: 9:00 a.m- 3:00 p.m.
Thursdays: 9:00 a.m- 12:00 p.m.

Essential Job Functions
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
- Lead and assist with climbing activities, including belaying and equipment checks
- Enforce all climbing safety standards and camp guidelines
- Instruct students in climbing skills appropriate to their age and ability
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any concerns
- Actively engage with students throughout the day
- Serve as a positive role model in attitude, behavior, and sportsmanship
- Maintain strong communication with fellow counselors and leadership staff
- Work collaboratively as part of a team

Requirements
Employees must:
- Have experience with climbing (indoor preferred)
- Be comfortable belaying and managing climbing equipment (training may be provided)
- Prioritize safety and follow all risk management procedures
- Demonstrate strong judgment and awareness in an active environment
- Be enthusiastic about working with children
- Communicate effectively and work well in a team
- Accept supervision and feedback
- Demonstrate integrity, adaptability, and responsibility
- Pass a criminal background check
- Be available for at least 7 weeks
- Attend mandatory orientation

The pay for this position is $25-$30 an hour, Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex, gender, or gender identity, but relates solely to a seniority system, a merit system, or relevant education, training and/or experience. Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance benefit programs are available, as is a 403(b) retirement plan. Eligibility for all benefit programs is defined by the applicable plan document.
