Automotive Mechanic

Job Title Automotive Mechanic Colony Tire is currently seeking a full time Automotive Mechanic to join our team Our mechanics work for competitive unlimited pay Full benefit package offered including simple and complex automotive issues and perform routine maintenance on passenger vehicles as well as heavy equipment Must hold a valid drivers license Summary Employee will be required to perform tire and auto related service as well as other duties as assigned by the manager Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty essential functions Essential Tasks and Responsibilities; include but not limited to Follow established procedures to inspect tires wheels and vehicles before and after serviceDocument work performed accurately and according to company policyRaise vehicles using hydraulic jacks andor automotive liftsUnbolt and re bolt wheels fromto vehicles using torque wrenches lug wrenches and other hand and power tools Mount and dismount tires onto wheelsIdentify and inflate tires in accordance with manufacturers specificationsPlace wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheelsReplace valve stemsRepair tires in accordance with industry accepted guidelinesRotate tires on vehicles in accordance with manufacturers recommendationsPerform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as but not limited to oil changes and lubricationsPull vehicles in and out of shop safelyEvaluate vehicles andor their components and systems by accepted diagnostic methods which may include any or all of the following; test driving vehicles; using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers compression gauges computerized diagnostic devices and their experienceRepair reline replace and adjust brakesFollow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined including belts hoses steering systems spark plugs brakes wheel bearings and other potentially troublesome areasConfer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirementsTroubleshoot diagnose problems with and make repairs to minor electrical systemsExamine vehicles compile estimates of repair costs and secure customers approval to perform repairsRepair or replace defective ball joint suspensions wheel bearings or other suspension componentsComplete State Inspections according to the outlined proceduresRepair and service air conditioning heating and engine cooling systemsRepair replace or adjust defective fuel injectors carburetor parts gasoline filtersRepair service or replace transmission andor parts and drive train componentsRemove and replace defective mufflers and tailpipesDisassemble repair and rebuild faulty assemblies such as steering systems and linkagesComplete front end alignments and suspension system serviceKnowledge Skills and Abilities Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs uses repair and maintenanceOperation and Control Controlling operations of equipment or systemsOperation Monitoring watching gauges dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properlyExtent Flexibility the ability to bend stretch twist or reach with your body arms andor legsStatic Strength the ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift push pull or carry objectsKnowledge of commonly used tools Ability to recognize and use a variety of tools including but not limited to power tools such
