For over 50 years, Colony House Furniture has built a reputation for providing quality furniture, exceptional customer service, and dependable delivery. We're looking for a motivated, dependable Warehouse Lead who enjoys working hard, leading by example, and helping a team succeed.
This is not a desk job. As our Warehouse Lead, you'll spend the majority of your day working alongside our warehouse team, helping to coordinate our daily operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring that staff handles merchandise safely and accurately, communicating and resolving quality control concerns; all while monitoring the efficient use of our efforts and the pace of production. If you're someone who naturally steps up, takes initiative, and enjoys leading from the front, we'd love to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the daily activities of the warehouse team while working alongside them.
- Assist in receiving/shipping, inspecting, assembling, and staging furniture for deliveries and customer pickups.
- Help prioritize daily tasks to ensure work is completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
- Verify merchandise for overall quality and order accuracy.
- Assist with inventory organization and proper receiving procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Train and mentor new warehouse employees.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, accountability and a positive work environment.
- Communicate operational concerns and daily progress with the Warehouse Manager.
- Assist wherever needed to keep warehouse operations running smoothly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse or shipping/receiving experience is required.
- Past production leadership experience preferred (Lead, Crew Leader, Supervisor, etc.).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable with excellent attendance.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and assemble furniture.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and move furniture.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment and material handling devices.
- Work in a warehouse environment that is not temperature controlled.
