Responsibilities:
Field Technicians work under the direct supervision of the Project Archaeologist, and indirectly under a Staff Archaeologist and the Director of Archaeology.
Job responsibilities include careful stratigraphic excavation, recording and excavating garden features, detailed record keeping, and interaction with site visitors.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have completed an archaeological field school in Historical Archaeology and/or have had extensive experience excavating sites of the Historic Period. This position requires applicants to work in heat and cold, the ability to lift 50 lbs., and to work collaboratively. Because the project is on a defined schedule, the ability to excavate with purpose is prioritized.
Compensation:
This position is full-time (7.5 hours/day)and carries benefits after a short probationary period. The rate of pay is $17.22/hr.
