Electrical Engineer/Senior Electrical Engineer – Hardware Design
- Rochester, NY area (25 minutes south)
- $100,000–$165,000 , annual bonus eligibility
- Paid relo on a case-by-case basis

About the Role
The organization has multiple Electrical Engineering levels and can hire based on experience. The work centers on hands-on hardware and product development, including circuit and PCB design, schematic capture, prototype development, testing, debugging and system integration.
Depending on background, engineers may work across analog/digital design, RF, signal processing, power electronics, acoustic/sonar systems, or high-speed/high-density FPGA hardware.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop analog, digital and/or RF circuits, including component selection and electrical design
- Develop schematics and define PCB layout requirements and design constraints
- Support multilayer, high-speed and/or RF PCB designs as applicable
- Build, test and debug prototype circuit boards and electronic systems
- Perform hands-on laboratory testing, analysis, validation and hardware debugging
- Support hardware/software integration, system integration and customer verification/validation
- Develop requirements, specifications, test procedures and other technical documentation
- Support design reviews, electrical trade studies, risk assessments and project execution
- Senior-level engineers may provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
- Some travel may be required
Qualifications
- BSEE, BSEET, or similar
- 2-5 years of digital and analog circuit design experience
- Hardware/product development experience including analog and/or digital circuit design
- Experience with schematic capture and electrical CAD tools
- Experience analyzing and debugging electronic hardware
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance; security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens
Depending on level, required experience may also include:
- Analog/digital circuit design, power electronics, RF and/or signal processing
- Altium Designer, Cadence, OrCAD, Multisim and/or LTspice
- Directing PCB layout and providing requirements to PCB/ECAD designers
Preferred/Desired
- MSEE, MSEET
- Multilayer PCB layout, high-speed digital design and/or RF PCB design
- RF components/design, power electronics and/or signal processing
- SPICE, PSpice, LTspice, Simulink and/or LabVIEW
- Oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and/or network analyzers
- JTAG boundary scan tools
- MATLAB, Python, Bash, C, C and/or Java
- Industry communication protocols
Salary : $100,000 - $170,000
