What are the responsibilities and job description for the Memory Care Activity Assistant position at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care?
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities for residents in a nursing home or memory care setting
- Provide support and assistance to residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and eating
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for residents, promoting socialization and engagement
- Collaborate with the activity director and interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Assist in organizing and coordinating events, outings, and special programs for residents
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure the highest level of care and satisfaction
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and progress
Qualifications:
- Experience or knowledge in social work, dementia care, or related fields is preferred
- Strong understanding of aging issues and counseling techniques
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and prioritize tasks
