Maintenance Director
Location: Colonial Nursing and Rehab – Crown Point, IN
Colonial Nursing and Rehab is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to lead the Environmental Services Department at our skilled nursing facility in Crown Point, IN. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of the maintenance and environmental services functions to ensure the facility is maintained in a safe, clean, efficient, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Position Overview
The Maintenance Director oversees facility maintenance, safety programs, and environmental operations. This position ensures the building, equipment, and grounds are properly maintained while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and direct the overall operations of the Environmental Services and Maintenance Department
Ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and well-maintained condition
Monitor and maintain sufficient levels of supplies, disinfectants, tools, and equipment necessary for daily operations
Ensure all environmental services personnel understand and follow Universal Precautions, safety standards, fire safety procedures, and disaster protocols
Conduct daily rounds throughout the facility to ensure staff are performing required duties and that maintenance and safety procedures are followed
Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the facility
Maintain compliance with regulatory inspections, safety standards, and facility policies
Monitor building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment
Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety checks
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and regulatory compliance within the department
Qualifications
Minimum three (3) years of maintenance experience, preferably in a supervisory role
Training in environmental control practices and maintenance procedures preferred
Experience in healthcare, medical facilities, or long-term care settings is desirable
Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
