Groundskeeper Assistant (Part-time): Performs various unskilled and semiskilled manual labor tasks to maintain parks, grounds, trails, athletic and recreation facilities.
- Operates and cares for grounds maintenance equipment, to include: mowers, weed eaters, blowers, and trimmers.
- Cuts grass, weed eats, and rakes leaves.
- Drags, marks, and lines athletic fields.
- Cleans up trash and picks up debris.
- Checks playground equipment for safety.
- Addresses public and professional inquiries
- Performs other duties as required.
- No formal education or experience required; however, candidates should have knowledge of the use and care of the tools, materials, and equipment used for lawn care maintenance.
- General knowledge, use and care of the tools, materials, and equipment used for lawn care maintenance; and principles of recreation safety and first aid techniques.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Knowledge of safety precaution.
- Successfully pass a criminal background investigation and drug screening
- Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license.
The work environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress that require a range of safety and other precautions.
