Our "Agency Rate" is available to maintenance staff who work at least 20 hours per week part-time hours or full-time hours. Work directly for us and be part of our Team!
How is the "Agency Rate" calculated for second and third shifts?
$18.31/hr base rate (first shift rate) - starts on hire
$2.20/hr pay in lieu of health, dental and vision coverages - starts when benefit-eligible*
$1.67/hr pay in lieu of certain paid time off - starts when benefit-eligible**
$22.18/hr "Agency Rate"
* Health insurance is offered starting the first of the month following 30 days of employment. When elected, the $2.20/hr pay in lieu of health benefit option starts with the first pay date of that same month.
** Paid personal days, vacation days and an extra day's holiday pay on 10 named holidays are offered after employees complete their probationary period (standard 90 days). Employees working for staffing agencies do not receive these benefits and tend to prefer a higher rate of pay when working.
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the grounds, facility, equipment, in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the established policies and procedures, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and may be directed by the facility maintenance director.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:
- Receives and follows maintenance schedule/instructions from the supervisor and as outline in maintenance policies and procedures.
- Maintains general plant and facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment.
- Performs routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc. by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc as necessary or directed.
- Performs routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment including plumbing, plastering, and electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc, as directed in accordance with established procedures.
- Replaces burned out light bulbs, to include exit lights; fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc, and perform cleaning duties whenever necessary.
- Services heating and cooling units/systems as specified by the manufacturer and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Performs unscheduled maintenance task as directed.
- Ensures that a maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area.
- Coordinates daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
- May perform floor care duties (sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax) as directed.
- Follows established fire safety policies and procedures.
- Assists others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies per facility protocol (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc.) when lifting heavy objects.
- Plows and shovels snow on walkways, driveways and other areas as directed. Ensures areas are properly sanded.
- Disposes of refuse daily in accordance with established sanitation procedures.
- Pick up SHARPS for destruction.
- Ensures maintenance supplies have been replenished in work areas.
- Keeps supervisor informed of supply needs.
- Reports equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to supervisor immediately.
- Attends mandatory in-services and department/facility meetings as directed.
- Informs residents when it is necessary to move his/hers personal possessions.
- Turns in all found articles to supervisor.
- Encourages a spirit of cooperation and team work with co-workers.
- Maintains safe and clean work area and adheres to location/company safety standards for healthcare professional.
- Ensures all OSHA and safety standards are followed, as applicable to the position and in the business location or workplace with state and federal regulation.
- Complies with all Infection Control, Standard Precautions, and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional in accordance with state and federal regulation.
- Adheres to location protocols and department/company policy and procedures.
- Adheres to established HIPAA confidentiality standards of patients/resident and client location information.
- Maintains on-site regular attendance as scheduled.
- Performs all other task or duties as assigned.
