The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing and supporting our chemical distribution processes, ensuring safety and efficiency, and leading various projects to help our company's growth and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Process Optimization
- Analyze and improve chemical and operational processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.
- Assess existing processes and identify gaps in current procedures by troubleshooting process-related issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and implement new process technologies and improvements.
- Monitor process performance through data analysis, trends, and regular audits.
- Coordinate efforts between site/department leaders and 3rd party engineering/support to develop and maintain an asset management strategy across the business unit.
- Project Management & Capital Expenditures
- Identify needs and develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets accordingly.
- Lead and manage projects from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope and budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Quality Control, Customer Service, Business Development, Sales, Supply Chain, and EHS.
- Regularly prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders for active projects.
- Oversee the planning and execution of capital expense projects, ensuring optimal resource use and adherence to budget constraints.
- Evaluate and prioritize capital projects based on annual objectives, budgets, and ROIs.
- Prepare and present capital expenditure proposals and justifications to senior management.
- Leadership
- Manage and provide direction to direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall project and organizational goals and timelines.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment.
- Lead project meetings and facilitate effective communication among team members.

- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all processes and projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Assess risk and implement replicable mitigation strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of processes and procedures.
- Technical Support
- Provide technical support and expertise to operations teams.
- Ensure employees have clear communication and training sessions on new processes and technologies.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in chemical engineering.
- Code and regulatory compliance support across all CCS sites, requiring traveling to all sites in support of site leaders to implement and ensure that all regulatory and CCS best practices are being implemented
- Support Colonial Packaging Services (CPS) business unit through scoping and implementation of existing and potential new business development. Develop scope of work and collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope, price, and onboard new customers.
- Education
- A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field is highly preferred. Commensurate experience will be considered.
- Experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in process engineering and project management within the chemical industry.
- A proven track record of successfully managing and completing technical projects is necessary.
- Technical Skills
- A strong understanding of chemical processes, equipment, and safety standards is required.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Agile).

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
