Requirements:
- High school diploma desirable.
- Must read, write, and follow instructions.
- Preferred coursework in food prep and supply requisition.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and personal hygiene is essential.
- Kitchen experience required.
- Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities using standardized recipes.
- Familiarity with cooking characteristics and kitchen equipment.
- Must stand/walk most of the day and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform simple repetitive tasks continuously.
- Cooking expirience preffered but not necessary
Reporting:
- Reports to the Dietary Services Supervisor.
Job Duties:
- Prepare meals according to high food preparation, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Follow meal schedules and use standardized recipes to avoid waste.
- Cook and serve regular and special diet meals.
- Ensure correct food storage and labeling.
- Supervise and instruct kitchen staff.
- Maintain sanitation standards in food handling and work areas.
- Assist with serving the tray line and oversee food for special functions.
- Notify supervisor of low supply items and perform other assigned duties.
AM Cook Schedule:
- 5:30 am: Clock in, wash hands.
- 5:45 am: Prepare breakfast.
- 7:00 am: Serve breakfast to 400 in dining room.
- 12:00 pm: Serve lunch.
- 2:00 pm: Clock out.
PM Cook Schedule:
- 12:00 pm: Assist AM Cook and serve breakfast to 100.
- 2:15 pm: Prepare evening meal.
- 5:00 pm: Serve dinner to 400, ensuring allergy awareness.
- 7:00 pm: Clean and sanitize kitchen before clocking out at 8:00 pm.
