Assistant/HOA Community Manager Trainee

Colonial Community Management LLC
Mesquite, NV Full Time
POSTED ON 9/16/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/14/2027

Company Overview

Colonial Community Management LLC is a Nevada-based HOA management company focused on clear communication, reliable service, strong operational standards, and doing what is right for the communities we serve.

We are looking for an Assistant/HOA Manager Trainee to join our Mesquite team. This position is designed for someone who wants to build a career in community association management. The right candidate will begin by supporting a Community Manager and learning the fundamentals of HOA management, with the opportunity to be fast-tracked into a Community Manager role as their knowledge, skills, and confidence develop.

Position Overview

As an Assistant/HOA Manager Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day management of homeowner’s associations while working closely with experienced Community Managers and our leadership team.

You will learn how to manage the many moving parts of an Association—from homeowner communication and Board meetings to vendors, maintenance, budgets, compliance, projects, and governing documents.

This is an opportunity for someone who is organized, professional, curious, solution-oriented, and genuinely interested in learning about the HOA industry. We are looking for someone who wants more than a job; we want someone who is interested in developing into a knowledgeable and trusted Community Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist assigned Community Manager with the day-to-day management of assigned communities.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, Board members, vendors, and team members.
  • Assist with Board meetings, agendas, notices, minutes, and follow-up.
  • Learn and assist with budgets, financial reporting, reserve planning, and community projects.
  • Assist with vendor coordination, maintenance requests, inspections, and follow-up.
  • Learn and apply governing documents, NRS/NAC 116, and company policies.
  • Assist with homeowner concerns, violations, architectural requests, and other Association matters.
  • Support Community Managers with research, documentation, correspondence, and administrative tasks.
  • Learn and utilize Vantaca and other company systems.
  • Develop the ability to research issues, identify solutions, and provide accurate information to Boards.
  • Participate in training and continuing education with the goal of progressing into a Community Manager position.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and solution-focused approach—even when dealing with difficult situations.

What We're Looking For

We are interested in potential and character as much as experience. The ideal candidate is:

  • Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • A strong written and verbal communicator.
  • Professional, dependable, and accountable.
  • Comfortable interacting with a wide range of personalities.
  • Calm and respectful when handling difficult or emotional situations.
  • A critical thinker who enjoys researching and solving problems.
  • Willing to ask questions, learn, and accept feedback.
  • Interested in learning Nevada HOA law, governing documents, financials, and Association operations.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are exactly alike.
  • Proficient with computers and willing to learn new software and systems.
  • Previous HOA, property management, administrative, customer service, or related experience is helpful, but not required for the right candidate.

The Path Forward

This position is intentionally structured as a career-development opportunity. As you demonstrate your ability to understand HOA operations, communicate effectively, manage responsibilities, and make sound decisions, you will take on increasing responsibility and begin transitioning toward your own community portfolio.

Our goal is not simply to fill an Assistant position. Our goal is to develop the next generation of Community Managers at Colonial.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Structured training and hands-on development
  • Continuing education and professional development
  • Mentorship from experienced Community Managers and leadership
  • A clear path toward a Community Manager position
  • Opportunity for long-term career growth within Colonial
  • A collaborative, professional, and positive team environment

If you are organized, motivated, eager to learn, and looking for an opportunity to build a career in HOA management, we would like to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your interest and relevant experience for this position.
