Summary:
The Principal at Coloma High School will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment for students and staff, and promoting academic excellence. The candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and a passion for education.
Responsibilities:
- Implement policies and procedures that promote a positive learning environment
- Provide visionary leadership to the high school, ensuring a safe, inclusive and engaging environment
- Collaborate with teachers, staff and parents to enhance student achievement and well-being
- Supervise and evaluate staff performance, providing support and guidance as needed
- Manage the school budget and resources effectively and ensure it aligns with the District Strategic Plan
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Monitor student progress and provide interventions as needed to ensure academic success
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to education
- Plan and organize school events and activities that promote school spirit and community involvement
-Supervise/attend evening activities & sporting events
- Manage small enrollment in online virtual program
- Maintain a safe and secure school environment, addressing any safety concerns or incidents that arise
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree(Master's preferred) in education or related field
- Valid teaching certification and administrative license
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in education, preferred at least 2 years in a leadership role preferred
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to education
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve common goals
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically
