Position Function:
Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Operations Director, the Summer Custodian supports the school district's maintenance and facilities team during the summer months. This position focuses on preparing school buildings and grounds for the upcoming academic year through cleaning, painting, groundskeeping, and general upkeep projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Paint classrooms, hallways, and other interior/exterior areas as assigned
- Mow and maintain grounds at multiple district buildings
- Move and arrange classroom furniture and equipment as needed
- Assist with general cleaning, repairs, and miscellaneous summer projects
Follow safety guidelines and proper use of equipment and materials
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (typically up to 50 lbs or more)
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment is preferred but not required

Schedule
- Seasonal, summer position with full-time hours as assigned by the district.
Travel Requirements
- Minimal travel is required
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
- Works in standard office and school building environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, solvents, and contaminated trash, grasses, pollens, etc.
