WORKERS' COMPENSATION/FMLA/DISABILITY CLERK
Clinic Hours:
M-F, 8-5
Summary:
To assist patients in a courteous professional manner with the
filing of their Workers' Compensation/FMLA/Disability forms. Obtaining necessary
information and completing the form accurately to obtain payment for
services rendered.
Duties:
Assist patients with Workers' Compensation/FMLA/Disability forms in a courteous manner.
- Verifies worker's compensation with employer or insurance company.
- Sets up worker's compensation account.
- Completes State required forms.
- Obtains and sends dictation regarding injury to appropriate place.
- Calls for claims and bills for services rendered.
- Conducts all worker's compensation insurance correspondence and disabilities.
- Posts payments on accounts and follows up on past due accounts.
- Prepares worker's compensation refunds.
- Makes corrections to worker's compensation accounts.
- Pre-certifies MRI’s, CT’s, general surgeries, ESI’s, NCV/EMG’s
- Set up appointments for final exams (impairment ratings)

2. Awareness of need for discretion and for keeping confidential all matters relating to the clinic, the employees and the patients.
3. Intelligence to use judgement and initiative determining the course of action with workman's compensation claims.
4. Ability to handle stressful situations while remaining calm.
5. Tact and diplomacy in dealing with staff.
