Position Summary:
Collins Surgical, a leading provider of Durable Medical Equipment (DME), is seeking a skilled and compassionate Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P) Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role not only includes patient care in orthotics and prosthetics and also encompasses walk-in customer service support and operational management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be clinical, customer-focused, and detail-oriented with leadership capabilities with an understanding of the DME industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical – Orthotics & Prosthetics:
- Evaluate, measure, design, fit, and adjust orthotic and prosthetic devices according to physician prescriptions and patient needs.
- Maintain thorough documentation of clinical assessments, fittings, and follow-ups. * Educate patients on proper usage and care of devices.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other medical professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Retail & Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for walk-in customers and clients.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations for orthotic devices, medical supports, braces, and footwear.
- Handle customer inquiries and needs professionally and efficiently.
Managerial & Administrative Duties:
- Oversee daily operations related to O&P and DME service delivery to ensure optimal work flow
- Supervise support staff and ensure they are trained and compliant with policies and procedures.
- Purchase and maintain inventory of O&P products and supplies, ensuring availability and proper stock levels.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, OSHA).
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for clinical and administrative efficiency.
Qualifications:
- ABC or BOC Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist
- Experience in DME operations, customer service, or healthcare administration is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage both clinical and managerial responsibilities. * Familiarity with insurance billing and compliance documentation.
