Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile preparations
- Assist with medication intake, inventory management, and medication reconciliation to ensure proper stock levels and safety compliance
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions and supporting patient care initiatives
- Maintain detailed documentation of medication administration, intake records, and pharmacy logs.
- Support critical care and acute care teams by delivering medications promptly and accurately in high-pressure situations
- Follow strict aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth medication distribution across various hospital departments
Skills
- Proven pharmacy technician experience, preferably within LTC (Long-Term Care), Compounding Pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and pharmacy operations
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate care and clear communication
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy in fast-paced settings
- Demonstrated understanding of medication safety protocols and pharmacy regulations
- Fluent in Spanish and English (bilingual required) – able to communicate clearly with patients and providers
- Ability to coordinate with doctor offices, insurance companies, and patients
- Strong multitasking and time management
