The CADD Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of CADD systems and supporting project teams with high-quality design and drafting services. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining cutting-edge design standards. The ideal candidate will have proficient experience and knowledge of Bentley and Autodesk software, along with the ability to develop and manage the Division’s drafting policies, procedures, and production.
Typically Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and manage the use of Bentley ProjectWise.
- Maintain and manage client drafting standards and workspaces.
- Provide training and support to the CADD Technicians and Engineers.
- Develop, maintain, and manage CADD standards and library.
- Develop and maintain CADD help desk and provide support, troubleshooting, and training
- Ensure the CADD infrastructure is robust, reliable, and up to date.
- Optimize drafting production, including the use of software/programming where appropriate
- Research and beta test software prior to implementation
- Assist in drafting and production of drawing sheets
- Review drafting production and ensure compliance with CADD standards .
- Responsible for strong attention to detail and excellent organization and documentation experience.
- Coordinate and consult with engineers and designers to complete assignments for projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for CADD-related inquiries and issues.
- Coordinate project execution regarding CADD assignments.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of CADD outputs.
- Ability to respond to client needs, including leading collaborative efforts across multiple disciplines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in drafting and design or bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a CADD management or senior CADD technician role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in drafting and drawing production and/or management focused on the transportation discipline
- Proficiency in Bentley and Autodesk software, preferably 5 years of experience.
- Proficiency in CADD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation) and related tools.
- Strong understanding of design and drafting principles and practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality assurance abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
