Job Overview:

The Electrician is responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems including high and low voltage system.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Work directly with the Operations and Engineering Directors and staff on a daily basis.
• Keep Operation Directors informed of status of repairs.
• Install ,maintain, modify ,repair electrical components, distribution systems and associated equipment.
• Analyze and diagnose electrical problems and recommend solutions.
• Install electrical fixtures to include but not limited to light fixtures, ballast, breakers, panels, relays etc.
• Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including but not limited to transformers, transfer switches, and switch gears.
• Survey electrical systems, circuits and plans. Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
• Test electrical systems using testing equipment such as ohmmeters, voltmeters etc.
• Wiring of motor, electrical circuits, as necessary.
• Change light bulbs when necessary.
• Be available on call for emergencies 24/7.
• Maintain proper Inventory and order material to perform work required.
• Adhere to all safety precautions as per OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum 5 years of hands on experience working as an Electrician.
• Knowledge and ability to work with hand tools, power tools, drills etc.
• Must be highly organized with great attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy.
• Knowledge in use of hand held devices to open and close out work orders.
• Knowledge of electrical system high and low voltage, reading of blueprints and diagrams.
• Experience in the use of all types of electrical testing equipment.
• Knowledge and training in the use of lock out-tag out.
• Knowledge of heating and air conditioning equipment preferred.
• Strong relationship building skills, specifically able to build effective relationships with client management, other facility teams, client representatives, CBS staff and management.
• Moderate lifting, Dependability, time management, independence, safety management, problem solving, analyzing information.
• Experience in an union environment highly desired as well as experience following union protocol.
• Proactively raises concerns and recommendations to management whenever possible.
• Self-starter able to work with a high degree of urgency and under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Able to work in a fast paced environment with multiple projects at the same time.
• Strong English communication skills both written and verbal.
• Desire to be successful and solution driven.
• Able to work in a professional manner at all times and actively contributes to a positive work environment.
• Able to work successfully in a team environment.
• Able to prioritize work and elevate appropriately any obstacles or concerns.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
