We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our close-knit team and help us provide exceptional care to our patients. At our practice, we treat our patients like family, and we want someone who shares that same passion for helping others maintain their healthiest smiles.
As a Dental Hygienist with us, you'll play a key role in patient care by performing screenings, cleaning teeth ( like removing plaque), and educating patients on good oral health habits. You'll also assist our dentists in making important decisions for treating gum and tooth conditions, and be there to support patients during dental emergencies. We value a steady hand, excellent communication, and a positive attitude, especially when it comes to making patients feel comfortable and informed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a welcoming environment, ensuring patients feel relaxed and at ease during their visits.
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment by properly sterilizing instruments
- Conduct thorough mouth screenings and discuss patients' oral health history
- Identify conditions like gingivitis ,caries, and periodontitis
- Provide professional cleanings, fluoride treatments, and plaque removal
- Educate patients of all ages on proper oral hygiene techniques ( brushing, flossing, etc.)
- Take dental x-rays
- Collaborate with the dentist to develop personalized treatment plans, including those for more serious conditions like oral cancer
- Keep accurate and detailed patient records
- Help with managing dental supplies as needed
SKILLS
- Valid Dental Hygienist license
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations ( e.g. , HIPPA compliance)
- Experience with dental equipment preparation and maintenance
- Strong communication and people skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Attention to detail and great organizational skills
- Physical stamina to meet the demands of the job
