As a Software Engineer on our team, you will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and verification of our embedded software solutions. We value individuals with a strong desire to learn, grow, and expand their technical capabilities, especially within embedded environments. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

- You will be a part of a team that is developing new and innovative products for our customers’ mission.
- You will face and conquer challenges across a wide range of complex and interesting problem domains.
- You will develop your skills with software application tools and languages such as Rust, C , and Python. You will impact the team positively by demonstrating your ability to implement and test software solutions.
- You will have opportunities to learn about cryptography, waveform & networking protocols, embedded devices, DevSecOps, command & control, project engineering
- You will gain experience working with an agile team.
- You will gain experience in the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience in C, C , Rust, python and/or Linux
- Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
- Some experience coding in an embedded environment
- Security focused mindset
- Familiar with multi-threaded and object oriented development
- Familiar with the basics of asymmetric and symmetric encryption
- TCP/IP network applications development knowledge
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
